What were your roles and responsibilities in your previous producing credits?

Some Are Born was my first feature film producing credit, which also came along with multiple other roles including Production Manager, Location Manager, and 2nd AD. My skill set as a versatile operations specialist filled in a lot of gaps for the film, but I would consider these as my primary producer responsibilities: operations management during pre through post, leading marketing efforts including creation of posters, trailer, and other assets, leading distribution strategy which our distribution deal, leading DIY theatrical distribution including local theater deal and college campus screening tour, operations management of post production delivery for theatrical and distribution, and leading festival strategy.

For the feature film Hayseed, my journey began as the 1st AD. From here I was elevated to producer early in production and took on more scope of my operations duties. I began directly managing department heads, resolving key labor issues between the BTL crew and producers and crewing up day players. I lead our Covid-19 compliance efforts by developing and implementing a workflow that satisfied SAG, county, and state requirements. I was also included in reporting to executive producers as we were making decisions on resource allocation of our funds, including crew headcount decisions, locations management, production vehicles, cast and crew lodging, and meals. Once in post production, I continued as the head of operations for the film. Goal setting, goal tracking, and strategy around festivals, marketing, distribution all came under my purview. As our finances dwindled, I also led two late fundraising rounds for $50k in equity financing and a $30k bridge/gap loan which elevated my position to Executive producer, and garnered co-production credit for DYNMC Films. I represented the film at 2 markets which secured multiple offers from distribution companies.

As Associate Producer for the experimental feature film Violent Space, I managed day to day operations from post production to the premiere screening. I facilitated post production processes including sound design, ADR recording, and secured a Los Angeles premiere screening at intimate event space, The Mystic Museum.

As a Producer for the short film College Town, I advised on the script and facilitated all aspects of physical production. This included creating and allocating the budget, crewing up, and securing locations. I also lead operations on the post production process, and facilitated final delivery to festivals.

On Short film Apollyon, as producer, I advised on creative development, assisted in fundraising, and secured production assets including locations and vender services. I handled all of the onboarding for cast and crew, and procured permits and insurance for the production. I also advised on post production creative decisions.

As E.P. on short films Pretorius and Red Skies, I advised on creative development and casting, assisted in acquiring department head attachments, and assisted in fundraising. I also advised throughout post production creative decisions.

Each of these projects has been an opportunity for me to get better at my craft, and find my leadership style so that I may continue to fuel my passion of indie filmmaking.
